APPOINTMENT TO STANTON PLANNING COMMISSION - VACANCY TO FILL ONE SEAT

THE CITY OF STANTON IS NOW ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS TO FILL ONE (1) VACANCY ON THE STANTON PLANNING COMMISSION.  Applicants must reside within the city limits and be at least 18 years of age to qualify.  The Planning Commission consists of five members who meet on the first and third Wednesday of every month at 6:30 p.m.

The Planning Commission is appointed by the City Council and is responsible for the coordination of planning, orderly growth, efficient land use and environmental protection within the City.  The Commission considers all discretionary entitlements and makes recommendations to the City Council on amendments to the City’s General Plan and quazi-judicial land use actions such as zone changes and amendments to the zoning code.  The Commission is responsible for the implementation of the general plan through actions including the application of zoning, specific plans and subdivision ordinances as well as the coordination of other local plans and programs with the plans and programs of other public agencies.

Section 2.06.030 of the Stanton Municipal Code requires the submission of applications and interviews prior to appointment to any position.

APPLICATIONS SHOULD BE SUBMITTED TO THE CITY CLERK ON OR PRIOR TO 5:00 P.M. ON THURSDAY, JULY 21, 2022.

APPOINTMENT IS TENTATIVELY SCHEDULED TO BE MADE BY THE CITY COUNCIL AT ITS MEETING OF AUGUST 23, 2022, OR AS SOON THEREAFTER AS POSSIBLE.
