Advertising & Signage

These guidelines are not intended to cover all sign regulations but serve as a summary being made available to assist businesses in their advertising efforts.

PERMANENT ADVERTISING DEVICES
All permanent advertising devices, such as ground monument signs, pole or freestanding signs, wall signs, roof signs and sign face changes must receive approval by the City of Stanton prior to installation.

BANNERS
A maximum of six banner permits are allowed in any one calendar year. Each permit shall not exceed thirty days, with a minimum of thirty consecutive days intervening each permit. All banners must be hung on your building in an approved manner.
  • Grand openings or going out of business sales
  • Change of business location
  • Change of ownership/management
  • Outdoor retail sales event

RETAIL OUTDOOR SALES, PENNANTS, STREAMERS, ETC.
Parking lot sales and outdoor exhibits associated with the operation of a business is permitted for a period of nine days, except in December, for which two weeks are allowed. Pennants, streamers, etc. are permitted only with an outdoor sales permit. A maximum of ten permits per calendar year are permitted.

SPECIAL EVENTS
Special events are activities conducted that are not associated with an established retail business, such as rummage sales by non-profit organizations, fairs, carnivals, circuses and similar outdoor events. Special events are permitted with a permit for a maximum of nine consecutive days. A maximum of ten permits per year are allowed.

PROHIBITED SIGNAGE
  • Portable Advertising and Flashing Signs.
  • Inflatable Devices/Balloons
  • Rotating Signs
  • Signs located in, or projecting into the public right-of-way
