TAX COUNSELING SERVICES
The City of Stanton partners with AARP to provide seniors with free tax help. Appointments for tax assistance services can typically be made in January and are available February-April.
SENIOR FOOD DISTRIBUTION
Seniors are invited to visit City Hall to receive frozen meals offered through OC Meals on Wheels as well as boxes of shelf-stable items provided by Second Harvest Food Bank. Additionally, our home-delivered meal service continues to operate and deliver meals Monday-Thursday to homebound seniors in our community. If you, or a senior you know, are in need of a nutritious meal or any other resources, please call the Community Services Department at (714) 890-4270.
Food distribution is offered at City Hall two days a week:
- Tuesdays, 11am-1pm: Last name beginning with A-M
- Thursdays, 11am-1pm: Last name beginning with N-Z
SENIOR WEEKLY ACTIVITIES
TUESDAY: Hula Dancing Every Tuesday from 9:30-11am, come enjoy hula with friends! Learn the basic techniques and get a full-body exercise while having fun!
THURSDAY: Stantonites Senior Bingo Club Stanton Community Services invites persons 50 years of age and older to attend and participate in “The Stantonites,” a local senior organization that meets every Thursday from 7am-12pm. *This program is currently suspended. CLASSES & EVENTS
Glass Painting - Wine and Design is back with an all-new project in their cup! Join Yvonne and staff as they take you step-by-step on a painting adventure. By the end of the workshop, you'll have your very own beautiful wine glass creation! Please inform staff if you would prefer a stemless glass.

Beath the Heat Movie Days - It's hot out there! Join us inside the air conditioning while enjoying a movie on the Stanton big screen. Movies are to be determined and subject to change at any time.

Help Yourself to Health Class
This exercise class will cover various health-related topics of interest and safe, beneficial exercises while focusing on weight training, balance and cardio to promote general health and fitness. Each class will incorporate information, discussion and exercises. The class will consist of an introduction, warm-up to increase circulation, static stretches, to minimize muscle strain/pain, strength training for specific muscles, followed by a cool down and concluding with balance exercises. All levels welcome!
O.C.T.A. Access Transportation
Transportation is provided within Orange County for medical appointments, shopping or social visits ($3.60 each way per zone). For information and to register for this ride program call the Orange County Transit Authority (O.C.T.A.) at (714) 636-7433.
Information & Referrals
Assistance with referral to a variety of senior services including adult day care, counseling, home health care, housing, home-delivered meals, case management, respite, employment, legal assistance, support groups mediation service, and other community services available through the Community Services Department at (714) 890-4276.
