Senior Services

We are proud to offer a variety of activities and services to our aging community. Seniors can enjoy bingo, karaoke, fitness classes, excursions, special luncheons and more at a minimum to no cost. Most activities occur on a weekly basis so there's always something going on! TAX COUNSELING SERVICES

SENIOR NUTRITION
Treat yourself to a splendid meal, talk with your friends and meet new ones. Delicious meals are served four days a week, Monday-Thursday, at 11:30am. Sign-in starts at 11am. The Meals on Wheels OC food program is on a first come, first serve basis. A suggested donation of $3 for senior age 60 and over is accepted. Are you homebound and can't make it to our in-person dining? Give us a call at (714) 890-4270 to learn more about our Home Delivered Meals service.

Monthly produce and pantry item distribution is offered on the third Wednesday of each month at City Hall (7800 Katella Avenue) 10:30-11:30am or until supplies last.

DAILY ACTIVITIES
The Civic Center offers a variety of recreational activities for participants to take part in before and after our daily meal, including a karaoke machine, playing cards, Bridge and mahjong! All seniors are welcome to come and meet new people, sing along and enjoy the fun!

THURSDAY: Senior Bingo Stanton Community Services invites persons 50 years of age and older to attend and participate in bingo every Thursday from 10-11:30am.

FITNESS CLASSES
Chair Volleyball
Chair volleyball, played like volleyball but sitting in a chair with a beachball, is an enjoyable and accessible sport to individuals with mobility challenges, physical disabilities, or those who may benefit from lower-impact physical activity. Classes promote camaraderie, physical fitness and mental well-being while increasing flexibility and stamina!

Line Dancing
Dance for fitness, memory, and fun! Line dancing offers simple, step-by-step, instructor-led dances to a mix of hit songs. Improve your fitness and dance skills, meet new friends and mix up your routine! All levels and abilities are welcome.

Qi Gong-Tai Chi
Energy exercise for self-healing, recharging your batteries and stress-busting! Increase flexibility and strength in a safe and achievable way.

Hula
All experience levels are welcome to come and learn basic hula techniques and get full-body exercise while having fun with friends!

Help Yourself to Health Class
This exercise class will cover various health-related topics of interest and safe, beneficial exercises while focusing on weight training, balance and cardio to promote general health and fitness. Each class will incorporate information, discussion and exercises. The class will consist of an introduction, warm-up to increase circulation, static stretches, to minimize muscle strain/pain, strength training for specific muscles, followed by a cool down and concluding with balance exercises.  All levels welcome!

O.C.T.A. Access Transportation
Transportation is provided within Orange County for medical appointments, shopping or social visits ($3.60 each way per zone). For information and to register for this ride program call the Orange County Transit Authority (O.C.T.A.) at (714) 636-7433

Assistance with referral to a variety of senior services including adult day care, counseling, home health care, housing, home-delivered meals, case management, respite, employment, legal assistance, support groups mediation service, and other community services available through the Community Services Department at (714) 890-4270.
