Cerritos Avenue Resurfacing
Project Description: The Cerritos Avenue Resurfacing Project is a one-mile stretch project spanning from Knotts Ave to Beach Blvd. The City is working to rehabilitate this area by grinding overlaying the existing asphalt. This Project was awarded to Hardy & Harper, Inc.
Location: Cerritos Avenue from Knott Avenue and Beach Boulevard
Project Status: Construction to start in 2024.
Projected Completion Date: The Project is expected to be completed before June 2024.
Annual Citywide Street Resurfacing
Project Description: As part of the City’s ongoing efforts to improve our streets, the Pavement Management Plan (PMP) is utilized to manage and create a Seven Year Plan for road maintenance and rehabilitation. The scope of work for street resurfacing projects consists of grinding and overlaying new asphalt, slurry sealing, concrete improvements, refreshing striping, and all other appurtenant work.

Premier Park
Project Description: State grant funds, based on City population, will support a complete renovation of Premier Park. Based on community feedback and staff input, proposed amenities include: drinking fountain and refillable bottle station, fitness equipment, playground and play features, rubber surfacing, security
lighting, shaded seating areas near the playground, swings, trash and recycling, and a walking trail/pathway around the park perimeter.

Orangewood Avenue Complete Streets Project (SANTA ROSALIA BRIDGE)
Project Description: This project proposes to implement a road diet for the installation of a Class II Bicycle Lane on Orangewood Avenue and a Class I Shared-Use Path on Santa Rosalia Street. The project also proposes upgrading the existing outdated Stanton Storm Channel Bridge on the north-end of Santa Rosalia Street to establish a suitable multi-use connection. Additional features include the installation of bulb-outs along both roadway segments, upgrades for ADA-compliant curb ramps, parkways and landscaping, street lighting upgrades, traffic signal modifications, replacement of sidewalks, curb & gutters, and cross gutters, and a complete grind & overlay of both street segments. This project is funded by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) through a Community Project Funding Grant.

Project Status: A Request for Proposal for design of the project will be issued October 2023. Design, Santa Rosalia Bridge is anticipated to be complete in Spring of 2024.
Norm Ross
Project Description:
In December 2021, the City was awarded $7,691,059 in competitive grant funding from the State of California through the Proposition 68 Statewide Park Program for the design and construction of the Norm Ross Sports Park. PBK has joined the City for professional design and construction support services for the upcoming 4-acre Norm Ross Sports Park. Proposed amenities include:
- An event plaza
- Community building
- Multi-purpose sports court
- Community garden and storage structure
- Dog park/dog run area
- Picnic areas
- Exercise equipment
- Playground
- Baseball field
- Landscaping and irrigation
- Perimeter trail
- Shade structures
- New connecting bridge over the storm channel with Stanton Park.

Project Status: This project is in the design phase, with a final design expected in Summer 2024. Construction is anticipated to begin in Fall 2024.

Annual Concrete Rehabilitation
Project Description: The Annual Concrete Rehabilitation projects are part of the City’s ongoing efforts improve damaged and/or deteriorated concrete infrastructure such as sidewalks, curb & gutters, driveway approaches. The reconstruction locations are determined from a list compiled by the Public Works & Engineering Department.

Sewer Master Plan
Project Description: The City currently operates and maintains the sewer infrastructure comprised of a network of 50.4 miles of mainlines and 1,177 manholes. The Sewer Master Plan assesses our current sewer system based on condition, flow, capacity, and potential future impacts. The Sewer Master Plan would also develop a 10-Year Plan to rehabilitate or upsize our sewer lines.

Central Park Shade Structure
Project Description: To provide visitors with shade and comfort when visiting the park, the City will be installing a new shade structure in the picnic table area. This project was awarded to R.E. Schulz Construction, Inc.

Family Resource Center Renovation Project (Phase II)
Project Description: With the completion of the Family Resource Center Renovation (Phase I) which renovated the building facility, Phase II of the Family Resource Center Renovation Project will focus on exterior improvements. The scope of work will include the removal and replacement of the existing play equipment, installation of rubberized surfacing, and other site furnishings.

ADA Self Evaluation and Transition Plan
Project Description: The City of Stanton is working with Disability Access Consultants (DAC) to compile and implement a comprehensive Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Self-Evaluation and Transition Plan. DAC is surveying the City’s facilities, public right-of-way, programs, and procedures for compliance with the ADA. Once the Self-Evaluation is completed, a Transition Plan will be created to ensure that the City is compliant with accessibility requirements as mandated by the ADA and the State of California Access Codes.

City Hall Fire Alarm Upgrade
Project Description: Stanton City Hall’s current fire alarm system is due for an upgrade as the system is no longer compliant with the current Fire Code and long past its life expectancy. The scope of work for the Project is replace the existing system and ensure that the fire alarm system is up to the current Code. The Project was awarded to Climatec.

Storm Drain Master Plan Update
Project Description: The previous Storm Drain Master Plan was prepared in 1991. The Storm Drain Master Plan Update would reflect the current condition of the storm drain system, assess the capacity of the existing system to handle flows generated at the ultimate “build-out” of the City, and develop a comprehensive 10-year Capital Improvement Program to any deficiencies in the City’s storm drain infrastructure.

Stanford Storm Drain Repair
Project Description: This Project would restore the structural integrity of the storm drains by lining the existing pipes.

Stanton Park Adult Fitness Equipment
Project Description: Through a partnership with the National Fitness Campaign, this project will install a mixed-use fitness court at Stanton Park. The court will be available for personal use and group classes, with features for strength training, high-intensity workouts and functional fitness.

Stanton Park Refresh
Project Description: Stanton Park is a 5.5-acre recreation park with playground, picnic shelters, restroom structure, fitness equipment and open space. The current park as programmed and designed is not providing maximum benefit to the community, and the current amenities are in need of updating. With the Norm Ross Sports Complex Project and the Stanton Park Adult Fitness Equipment, the City took the opportunity to reimagine the entire area as a cohesive whole. The vision to unify and revamp the area was the Stanton Park Refresh Project, which includes the installation of new walkways, lighting, pickleball courts, additional parking lot, and also a refresh of the pedestrian bridges.
